More exams needed: Neuralgia is a condition that the nerve fibers are inflamed or infected with a viral condition that can cause numbness in your face. By your description it is the trigeminal nerve affected, that enervates that area of your face. I suggest you see a neurologyst for further testing and proper diagnosis.

This needs to be evaluated by a physician familiar with this area of the anatomy. See an md and describe the symptoms as you have stated them.
