Evaluate baby: If your baby is happy and playful and eating well. You can afford to observe infant. If them baby is not doing well, get to the er asap.

It's recommended: That they be evaluated promptly, because of the risk of sepsis. If you don't know the practice's policy on after-hours calls, call the office number to speak with the on-call pediatrician or nurse practitioner for instructions or to leave a message with with your baby's name, birthdate, your contact number, specific symptoms & which hospital emergency room (not quick-care) you'll be using.
