One week: The best time of your cycle to do a mammogram or breast ultrasound is going to be when your period is over, maybe the week after your period is done when the breasts are not going to be tender.

No wait: Based on the question, you do not need a breast ultrasound. The information on a breast will ultrasound will not help you discover the cause of your pain.
