Can be anything: Urinary tract infections in men may be associated with elevated psa. However, prostate cancer may also cause obstruction to urine flow and therefore predispose to urinary tract infection. If my index of suspicion for prostate cancer is fairly low, i usually treat urinary tract infection and recheck psa 2-3 weeks after it's subsided. If it's trending down, i repeat it again in a few weeks.
