Cured no, better yes: There are a multitude of treatments available, & they are as varied as the person affected. Applied behavior anaylsis has been shown to help, it is very intensive. A different but similar approach is "son-rise". Some times adhd meds help. There is a large # of off label treatments (look at www.Autism.Com) that help some people, but don't have the published studies to convince most drs. To try.

None, But...: There are many degrees of autism. Although total cure is unknown, with proper, proven therapy, there can be huge improvement. So great, that some are able to function almost normally in society. Unfortunately, there are more severe cases that will never do well. The earlier the diagnosis, the greater chances of improvement.

Cures unlikely: When you hear islolated reports of curing autism many have been misdiagnosed. Those with Asperger's disorder, under the label autism, can be significantly helped by receiving social pragmatics help as children and will often appear more like those with non verbal learning disabilities. The more socialization help a child receives and coaching about social rules, the better they will function.
