Swimmer's ear: Not all cases of swimmer's ear (external otitis ) are caused by swimming, but it sounds like this one is. See your doctor for antibiotic ear drops. If your ear is swollen shut see an ENT to clean the ear (which hurts but you'll get better faster) and place a wick in the ear canal. Oral antibiotics are generally not necessary or helpful, unless you've got swelling outside of the ear.
