Can learning disabilities be considered psychological or are they only physiological(neurological)?

Depends: The origins of specific learning disabilities are thought to be physiologic & often show heritable patterns. However, emotional stress & emotional disorders can interfere with learning or someones ability to preform at their potential.T is important to consider this when trying to sort out why someone is struggling to learn. Ld therapy would be inappropriate for one whose primary issue is emotive.

A Specific Learning: Disability = " an unexpected difficulty in learning in a child with an average (90-110) or > avg. Iq, " caused by deficits in the brain's ability to process, coordinate, store & retrieve certain types of information. Kids with dyslexia activate different parts of the brain while reading during functional MRI scans than do their neurotypical peers. Read " overcoming dyslexia" by dr. Shaywitz.
