Vaseline?: I have never heard of that. Are you sure it's vaseline? You should ask your dentist the next time.

There are some: Dentists that use vaseline in the polishing phase of composite fillings. In the grand scheme it really does nothing to enhance or take away from the filling. Hope this helps. The only time we typicalky use vaseline as part of the procedure is if we don't want to cement something permanently, or sometimes during impression taking depending on the patients dentition / periodontal status.
