Tummy tuck: Great operation for the right patient. It is a body contouring operation not a weightloss operation. Make sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation.

Yes: Giving out information about tummy tucks (witch hazel) and other cosmetic plastic surgery procedures is something I do every day. It's a good operation if you are healthy and have loose skin, disproportionate fat of the lower abdomen and muscle laxity. It is not a good way to lose weight, but a great way to mechnically tighten a belly that has been stretched out.

Sure: Tummy tuck is for normal weight patients and does three things: removes excess fat and skin from the lower abdomen, tightens your muscles and repositions your belly button. The scar will be where your lower abdominal fold naturally forms and around your belly button. When you consult your plastic surgeon, you will have all the details about the procedure, .

Not fat removal.....: A tummy tuck is a contouring operation not weight loss. It removes some skin and fat but more importantly re-contours the abdominal wall. Be careful that you are not looking at this as a weight loss operation. For that i recommend gastric bypass in most cases.

Tummy tuck info: It can be a very powerful operation. It's for those folks with extra skin and soft tissue. Many who have lost weight and have extra skin want the excess taken away. Some just want to fit into pants better. The abdominal muscles may also have spread out with pregnancy or just over time. The plication sews them back together. This flattens the tummy. See a board certified plastic surgeon.
