Do pushup: But use a "cheat" until stronger. Put arms against elevated support (bureau, 1/2-wall, chair, etc.) to angle body higher. Do assisted-push up from this positon as many as able, until strong enough to attempt with lower/shorter support. Eventually will not need any support, and viola! there you go.
