Worth checking: If your kid has nosebleeds that last less than 10 minutes, it's usually not a sign of something dangerous. However, it's usually worthwhile having your doctor check to see if something else is going on like allergies (which can be treated) or a growth in the nose.

See your doctor: Frequent nose bleeds in a child might just be due to dry nasal passages or nose picking, but it could signal problems of a bleeding disorder, rare nasal vascular growths or other medical problems. A thorough exam and history is necessary to identify the cause.

Not allergies: He most likely has an enlarged anterior septal vessel which gets irritated and inflamed. Allergy can upset the nose and aggravate the vessel increasing the frequency and intensity of bleeds but allergies do not cause nose bleeds.
