A member asked:

I tend to get very dry hands midway through every fall and winter. why is that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Moisture: The skin of our hands is exposed to the weather, soaps, chemicals, and constant use. Dry skin is common and often responds to simple hand lotion applied throughout the day and after each washing. Wearing gloves at night may help reduce the loss of moisture while sleeping.
