Positive: The chiropractors I have worked with and refer patients to in my area are excellent. They fill a needed area in medicine that involves manipulation to relieve pain. Most also use accupressure and accupunture to aid their treatment and improve their results. An osteopathic physician (do) can also provide medicinal support as well as manipulation.

Could be either: Chiropractic is generally safe treatment for minor body complaints. You may be prescribed some stretching to help with the treatment. It is not widely acceptable for primary treatment of major medical issues.

Beneficial: Chiropractic has been shown to be safe, effective, and inexpensive for treating many conditions. Most often people seek chiropractic care for headaches, neck pain and back pain. Chiropractic focuses upon improving function, which in turn helps eliminate symptoms. Depending upon the condition, and type of treatment soreness may occur, much like working out, after one's first few adjustments.
