A member asked:

Yellowish skin on and off and slightly yellow/dark sclera. what do these symptoms indicate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Time for an eye exam: Yellow on the white of the eyes can be related to several conditions. If it appears gelatinous and near the clear cornea, it may be a pingueculum or pterygium. These conditions are caused by sun exposure, and may be removed surgically. If the entire white of the eye is yellow, this is jaundice and can be related to liver problems. It is best to get both a general medical and eye examination.
