Many causes: Acute shoulder pain can occur after an injury. These would include fractures, dislocations, or contusions. If you have hurt your shoulder, go to your doc or ed to be evaluated. Non-traumatic causes include adhesive capsulitis, acute rotator cuff tendinitis, biceps problems, and even neck problems. You should have an orthopedic surgeon evaluate your shoulder to figure it out.
