Not recomended: When the rotator cuff is injured, avoid movements that wing the elbow out, or push upwards. Impingement of the muscles against the bones of the shoulder can flare the pain. You can learn rotational exercises with the palm up, elbow at side, followed by strengthening routines with the elbow below the shoulder

NO: The bench press primarily helps strengthen the pectoralis major and triceps depending on technique, etc. And rather than helping can put added strain on the shoulder stabilizers including the rotator cuff.
