Not likely: Teeth cleaning does not normally cause gagging unless you also gag when you brush your teeth. If you gag when you brush your teeth, talk to your dentist for his suggests on how he/she usually handles a gagging situation.

Shouldn't be problem: Have you never had your teeth cleaned? Gagging for cleanings is seldom if ever a problem. Ask if you dentist uses "sweet air" also called "laughing gas" or nitrous oxide\oxygen analgesia. In 40 years I have never had a problem with gagging when using nitrous. Just explain your concerns and you should be fine. Your teeth with be clean and your mouth healthier!
