Hard Palate is OK: The hard palate refers to the upper part of the mouth that has underlying bone. Towards the back of the throat, the tissue does not have bone supporting it and is called the soft palate. The hard palate has salivary glands that can swell when you eat hot spicy foods. That condition usually subsides quickly after eating. A dentist can check it for you if you are worried. Sounds normal.

Have it evaluated: You may have normal scarring if the burn was bad. I would have it evaluated by your dentist, periodontist or oral surgeon.

Torus?: You may have something that is called a torus, which is merely some excess bone and nothing to be concerned about. Often, a cut, burn or irritation makes a patient aware of something that they already had in their mouth but was unaware of until something drew their attention to it. Ask your dentist to look at it again to make sure everything is fine.
