What can i do to avoid becoming blind or developing some eye blindness over time?

Hard question: If you are aware of any eye disorder you may have, you need to seek treatment of it. Same if you have a disease/disorder that may affect your eyes (hypertension/diabetes). You may also want to consider to keep a healthy environment for your eyes, meaning you want to avoid situations in which your eyes may be exposed to injury, contact with hazardous substances etc.

Regular eye exams: Protect eyes from injuries. Regular dilated eye exams by eye physician.
