Various things: Bright red blood can be an anal fissure. Blood mixed throughout stool warrants a visit to the doctor. Bloody loose stool could be salmonella or similar bacterial infection. Can also indicate a polyp. If persists more than a day or two see the doctor...And if accompanied by fever or intense cramping see doctor.
