Virus or strep?: The white stuff you see is called an exudate. Tonsillitis with exudate is not always caused by strep. That's why it is important to take a throat culture to make a definitive diagnosis you child may have an adenovirus which cause exudative tonsillitis but does not respond to antibiotics.

I had strep throat 10 days ago. Went to doc was given a penicillin shot think bicillin felt better 2 days later but still have small pus on tonsils? ?
On levaquin/clindamycin tons itchy pus bumps face neck chest only after start meds. Can be AGEP? ID doc said stop meds see if helps, right advice?
