A member asked:

Can gerd/pud cause rib and sternal pain? especially upon deep breathing? also with a high tbili could the pain be gallbladder related?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gallbladder: This would be very unusual for GERD to cause these types of symptoms, and it sounds like it would be more likely related to the gallbladder, if the gallbladder is diseased. There are many causes of a high bilirubin. Make sure to follow up with your doctor, and ask if a gallbladder ultrasound and/or referral to a general surgeon is appropriate. Hope this helps!
