What is causing it: Need to see a podiatrist to see what is causing it. It could be dry blood from micro trauma from you shoes or fungus or other skin pathological issues (psoriasis). Correct treatment could be render identification of the cause.

If it's blood from: An injury that is dried and stained on the nail, it will have to grow out or come off when the new nail presents. It may take weeks to months but don't worry
