Worry not!: Millions have gone before you, and so many people love their new smile. Normal fears: Orthodontists are trained to work with all age groups, it's never too late to get braces, schedule a consultation with your local orthodontist and hopefully he will be able to help you overcome your fears. Write down all of your questions and concerns before your visit. I treated hundreds of patients in your age group, everyone would agree that its worth it at the end. Good luck.

Don't worry: While orthodontic treatment can be a bit uncomfortable, it is more annoying than painful. Keep your mouth clean, be careful about what you eat, follow your orthodontist's instructions, and you will be finished before you know it with the life-time benefit of a beautiful smile.

Seek opinion: The removal of teeth is sometimes necessitated in orthodontics to resolve significant crowding or protrusion of teeth. Extractions for orthodontics is a time-tested, evidence-based approach when they are needed. Only your licensed orthodontic specialist can tell whether extractions are recommended for your situation.
