Arthritis/fibromyalg: Osteo-arthritis is often helped with supplements of gulcosamine-chondroitin, msm, omega 3 fish oil (krill oil) and a healthy diet avoid satuarated fats, avoid most oils and use only extra virgin olive oil and coconut oil for cooking. Vitamin d3 fibromyalgia helped by healthy life style, no smoking, meditation, adequate sleep, stress reduction, vit d3, krill oil, antioxidant foods, colored fruits.

A few: Most supplements have poor evidence for efficacy in pain states. That stated, Alpha lipoic acid, acetylcarnitine, and fish oil have some evidence that they help for neuropathic pain, specifically diabetic neuropathy. Perhaps 1/5 of my patients who try this decide to stay on the supplements because they are beneficial.

Glucosamine vitaminD: Glucosamine with msm is very effective at helping to reduce arthritis pain and it probably helps to stabilize joint cartilage. For fibromyalgia vitamin d3 can be very helpful. It is best to get a blood level to know how much to supplement, but it is reasonable to start at 4000 units per day.
