Salt intake?: One thing that's often overlooked by patients and doctors alike is salt intake. Salt holds on to fluid in the body, and actually expands the volume of blood we circulate. We only need about 2000 gm of salt/day, yet the american diet is often well over 3000! hidden sources are prepared foods, soups, and soy sauce. Start to get in the habit of reading labels; you'll be shocked by common foods!

Blood pressure: As long as you maintain healthy life style and there are no other major health issues, further reductions in blood pressure may not be needed. Other factors to consider are stress and sleep quality. Chronic stress can elevate blood pressure, as well as poor sleep or specific sleep disorders such as sleep apnea.
