Psychotherapy: Individual long-term psychotherapy is the best treatment for people with borderline personality disorder. Sometimes there are also symptoms of depression and anxiety which can benefit from medications, but the medications are not treating the personality disorder itself. Healing involves learning to deal with fears of abandonment, as well as difficulty with strong emotions. Dbt helps with this.

DBT: Dbt, or dialetic behavioral therapy, formulated and developed by marsha linehan, pH.D. Is currently though of as being very effective. Just about the biggest goal of this kind of therapy for this kind of disorder is to maintain boundaries.
