A member asked:

How effective are lyrica (pregabalin) and tofranil for treating fibromyalgia?

Both can help: Lyrica (pregabalin) has good evidence of benefit for treatment of fibromyalgia in double blinded randomized controlled clinical trials. Imipramine(tofranil) is in the tricyclic antidepressant family. It may also provide benefit for various chronic pain disorders to include fibromyalgia. No one treatment helps everyone and everyone has a different response to treatment, but these are two reasonable options.

Lyrica, (pregabalin) at times: Lyrica (pregabalin) may be beneficial, but I do not recommend tofranil. Restore sleep directly, reduce stress and consider electroprobe therapy or trigger point injections.
