Don't Rely on Herbs: Many seek out st. John's wart for depression from health food stores. Research has show such a wild variation in the active ingredients measured in such minimally regulated products. Products have been actually found to contain none of the active ingredient, hypericum. Such supplements cost more than reliable generic antidepressants. Depression is serious. Don't gamble with herbs. See your md.

Supplements: Two come to mind-800 to 1600 mgs per day of sam-e, and about 3000 mgs of omega 3 fatty acids per day. Check with your dr. Also, just because it's "natural" doesn't mean it's safe. Good luck.
