How long ?: How long are you numb for? If it is more than twelve hours post extraction, you need to immediately contact your surgeon for guidance. If this is immediately post op, you will need to let your body metabolize the anesthetic.

Very little: There is very little you can do to speed things up. One of the rare consequences of wisdom tooth removal is numbness following surgery. This is due to damage to the nerve which is often very, very close to the root tip. Feeling can, with time, return to normal or nearly normal. Rarely numbness can be permanent. Return to the surgeon and discuss your problem, and do it soon.

Depends: Sometimes parasthesia will be permanent if damage to the nerve was substantial. More likely, it's a partial parasthesia that with time, may be partially or totally restored. Your surgeon would know the degree of trauma and could best answer the time table for recovery. Sometimes a steroid can be prescribed to reduce internal swelling and sipped things along, but overall nerve regeneration takes t.
