Use cool water only, as hot or warm water may warp the guard and affect the fit. Use clear antibacterial soap and rinse thoroughly, dry completely before placing into a clean case for storage. Use OTC rinses: There are many otc rinses you can use to help with your guard smell. Before doing any abrasive actions, just make sure you speak to your dentist on all options, but placing them in certain cleaners, like in a cup, should generally help.

Nightguard cleaning: Have a routine hygiene visit at your dentist and let them clean your night guard in an ultra sonic cleanser. Next, make sure that you brush your night guard each day with a toothbrush and toothpaste and store it, when not in use, in fresh listerine or equivalent antibacterial mouth rinse.

Clean it: Plastic is porous, and therefore a refuge for all sorts of creepy crawlies. Morning and night when the appliance is out for tooth brushing, brush it with toothbrush (no toothpaste...it scratches plastic). During the day when you are not wearing appliance put it into a glass or small bowl, cover with room temperature water, drop in a Denture Cleaner tablet.
