Symptom relief: If you had adhd, there is about a 65% chance that a stimulant such as Ritalin (methylphenidate) can improve attention, decrease impulsivity, and reduce restlessness or hyperactivity. It is not a cure--we don't have one--but stimulants can be highly effective in reducing those symptoms in children, adolescents, and adults, usually with minimal to no side effects.
