What are some things i can do to relax my eyes after looking at a monitor or other electronic display?

Relaxation: When looking at a monitor for an extended period, the focusing muscles can become fatigued. We often recommend the 20/20/20 rule where every 20 minutes, look up at something at least 20 feet away for 20 seconds - it's simple and works wonders.

Lubricating drops: Pts commonly complain of strain or dry ey after stairing at the computer for a while. This is commonly caused by dry eye from not blinking as often as you normally would. You can try using lubricating drops or warm compresses to help to soothe your eye.

Ergonomics: Positioning the monitor, keyboard, and your chair properly are important to reduce strain. Frequent breaks and lubricating drops are also very useful.
