No: A second monitor just gives you more area to view the desktop. If you have low vision however, the font sizes can be increased and a second monitor can minimize scrolling. If you have eyestrain it's best to be checked for glasses prior to purchasing another monitor. They do look nice though!

Perhaps: Ways to protect your eyes when on the computer-- bigger monitor, enlarge the font on the screen, take breaks every 20 minutes to rest the eyes, use artificial tears to keep eyes moist (theratears, systane), using an anti-glare shield on the monitor(s).
