It happens a lot: People who spend hours at a time on the computer have increased incidence of blurred vision. We tend not to blink as frequently when staring at a computer, and this dries the eyes out, which in turn causes intermittent blurred vision. Also, some individuals need glasses when on the computer for extended periods. If artificial tears used every 20-30 minutes do not help, see an eye doctor.

Computer vision: First of all there is no evidence that computers harm eyes in any way whatsoever. To avoid symptoms you must use the proper glasses(only if you have refractive error), make sure your work space is properly lighted to avoid glare and that the screen is ergonomically correct. Take frequent breaks if you can and use non-preserved artificial tears as needed if your eyes feel strained.
