A member asked:

I may have a tiny avulsion off the tip of my right distal fibula but my ankle and heel hurts to the touch and when i walk on it is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Avulsion: An avulsion occurs when soft tissue pulls a piece of bone off of its origin or insertion. An avulsion from the distal fibula could possibly represent an avulsion from a ligament resulting in instability of the peroneal muscles coursing in that area. I would recommend evaluation by a either a podiatrist or foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon.
