Head wound: Go to the er. Sounds like she could use a stitch or two. Since the head was involved the child can be checked out neurologically.

Home care: Puncture wounds do not require sutures except rare cases. If the child is behaving normally, interacting as usual, eating, not vomiting, playful, not groggy then flush the wound well, apply Bacitracin , ice it for 15 minutes 2-3 times for the next couple of days if the child will allow(frozen peas is great) . If it starts to get pus in it or really red or smell funny seek care.
