Need more info: Why did they test his bilirubin? What else did they look at? Were those tests normal? Total bilirubin is made up of direct (conjugated) and indirect (unconjugated) bilirubin. If his level of 3 point something was made up primarily of direct, that might not be good. An indirect with this number could be ok (could be gilbert's syndrome - common with no health implications).
