It can.: A sinus infection (sinusitis) can cause a toothache — especially in the upper rear teeth, which are close to the sinuses. Pain in the upper teeth is a fairly common symptom with sinus conditions. I would assume some people could experience numbness rather than pain. Hopefully this symptom will go away as the infection is treated. If not, you may need to see a dentist.

It could.: You should see a medical doctor to rule out any further problems. However a severe infection could cause numbness. Depending on how long you have been taking antibiotics you may need a different regimen.
