See your dentist: Swelling of the palate could be a normal occurrance. You can be developing a palatal tori. It is a hard lump near the center of palate. More prevalent in women. Age about right. However, there are other problems associated with swelling in mouth that may need to be treated. Your dentist can examine the site and give you recommendations.

Infection???: Swelling is usually a sign that something is wrong. I would check with your dentist or ENT and have them help you determine what is wrong, so you can get it corrected.
