Fair questions: CHF is a serious condition and can result in death so your questions are reasonable. That said, there are many treatments for CHF and most people lead normal lives most of the time. Life expectancy depends on many factors that can't be addressed here. Icds & resynchronization are used for advanced CHF and have been proven to extend life expectancy - discuss the indications with your cardiologist.

Heart failure outcom: Serious disease but lots of good treatments to prolong life and quality of life. You should see a heart failure specialist who will make sure you receive the proper therapies.
