Sleep apnea?: 'nightmares' are one of the parasomnias that can occur at night while sleeping, or trying to sleep. They may be associated with sleep apnea. Consulting a specialist trained in sleep medicine can lead to treatment for this problem and could eliminate the parasomnia described as 'night terror'.

Sleep apnea: If you are not getting a good nights sleep ( i.e. Not getting to rem stage) then your entire system remains stressed. Have you been evaluated for sleep apnea? Lack of oxygen , gasping for air, interrupts the necessary sleep stages with resultant hyper arousal.
