Run around ?: Sounds as if you may have had what is, as a dull "running around". The medical term is paronychia and it is a good thing that it "burst" as if you had a presented to the dr. With this problem he would've opened it surgically. Soak in antiseptic soap such as betadine. Use otc antibiotic ointment. If redness or swelling persists or starts moving up pain see a doctor. Love to see picture.
