Seek treatment: Without seeing the you or the chip the best recommendation is for you to see your dentist. If it is a small chip it may be smoothed or filled with a tooth colored filling. If it is a large chip from decay or an old filling that failed then it may require a more permanent solution.

See a dentist: Consult with a dentist who will examine the tooth and evaluate the extend of tooth damage. There may be other concerns regarding the tooth such as the condition of the enamel overall or damage to the root and surrounding structures. Your dentist should discuss treatment options with you including referral to a cosmetic dentist.

Agreed.: Have your dentist look at it and give you options. It could require a lot of work, nothing or anywhere in between. The answer should be simple once you get a professional eval. Good luck!

Depends: The kind of treatment is dependent on how much of the tooth is chipped, where the tooth is chipped, where in the mouth the tooth is located etc. If its a small chip sometimes just smoothing the tooth off is enough. Composite or tooth colored material is a good choice to repair a chip. Porcelain is also a good way to fix a chip.

Depends: Depends how deep and where the chip is. Usually a white filling can fix a chipped tooth. If the chip is very large and the crown o the tooth is relatively weak, then a partial or full crown might be a good option. See a dentist.

Chip repair: The best repair depends on the size of the chip and the location. Generally your choice of materials will be either composite or porcelain. If it is a small chip, bonding composite can be a good solution. Other factors including how you bite against the chip . Porcelain is generally more durable and doesn't stain but has a higher cost. Both can be made to look very good.
