Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD is safe: The risk of getting pregnant with an iud inserted is about the same as using a pill.... Very low. It's indicated in one partner, relationships. It's not meant for multi-sexual partners due to the risk of std's. Be aware of that at your age (22). Practice safe sex as always, and go see your doctor if you have any more questions.
