Many reasons.: If its of new onset, most possible could be a viral infection, but without seeing you and doing a proper evaluation, its hard to give you all the reasons.

Think thyroid: There are indeed many possible reasons and yes a viral infection could be the cause. Also consider hormonal issues such as hypothyroidism.
