Argyria: Silver does not occur regularly in human tissue, but can be absorbed from the lungs & GI tract. Silver sulfide forms an insoluble complex in elastic fibers, resulting in argyria. In generalized argyria, skin, eye involvement, lung & kidney lesions, arteriosclerosis may result. With colloidal silver, death may result from hemolysis, pulmonary edema. Think twice before eating a lot of silver.
