Finger Implant: Arthritic finger joints can be replaced similar to the hip and knee joint replacement surgery. Since we don't walk on our hands, we don't need to have large metal and plastic joint implants. Silicone and tissue joint replacements can be done for the fingers and thumb. If you are having a lot of hand joint pain, i suggest you see a hand surgeon to get an opinion on your treatment options.

As it sounds: There are joints in the hand that have joint replacements available. In this procedure, the diseased joint is respected and replaced with a mechanical one with the goal of reducing pain and improving function.
