A member asked:

Is it possible to have a fused hip conversion to a hip joint replacement?

Yes: See a hip specialist who has done many of theses. It is not a straight forward/routine operation. For the success of the operation one factor is important: preserved buttock (abductor )muscles.

Absolutely: While a complex hip operation, a fusion can be converted successfully to a hip replacement. Be sure to see a surgeon well versed in this procedure to minimize your risk of complications.
