Infection? Tumor?: The cause for a single tonsil to enlarge can be related to the positioning of the bed where the tonsil sits producing an illusion of a large single tonsil or it can be related to tumors such as in conditions of lymphoma or even tonsil cancer. Most cases, it is not worrisome, but should be sorted out by your ent.
